2012-2013 Season As usual, we had another good opening day of the Kentucky quail season. Unfortunately, is was one of the driest years we had seen and any hay was cut to fill demand so cover was hard to find. All dogs are our PURE DASHING BONDHU's and they had to work hard for birds, but we did have another awesome annual hunt. We were glad my nephew was able to make it this time. Russ, Dennis, Mike Jr. were also able to come with me.

Mike Jr. and Steven watch older dogs show they are reliable. Cover was light this year because of drought conditions,
but a few quail were found in this grass,
Big cut fields but some hedge rows did produce birds. We had to work extra hard and cover more ground this year.

Nice POINT, on a nice cock Pheasant about 40 foot to the right near a big Oat tree.

Under the hard conditions and lack of good cover, we did exceptionally well.
We know of many hunters in our area who got skunked opening weekend.

We had several training sessions and other hunts through out the 2012-2013 season, but because of the dry hard hunting conditions we did not get pictures. The 2013-2014 season looks to be an awesome year and have planned some more Kansas Ringneck hunts, wild Quail hunts, and eastern TN & KY Ruffed Grouse hunts.
